Monday Motivator :: Diana Vreeland

“There’s only one very good life, and that’s the life you know you want, and you make it yourself.” –Diana Vreeland

This weekend I saw “Diana Vreeland- The Eye Has to Travel.” Mrs. Vreeland’s passion for style, fashion, and every other aspect of her work is truly inspiring. Even though she wasn’t conventionally beautiful, she was the embodiment of what I find most beautiful in people: spirit and originality. The film is imbued with her infectious spirit. I loved it!

Monday Motivator :: Helen Keller

“I long to accomplish a great and noble task, but it is my chief duty to accomplish small tasks as if they were great and noble.”
     ~Helen Keller
I have always admired Helen Keller. When I was a little girl, I watched The Miracle Worker and was in awe. I just couldn’t imagine being both blind and deaf, learning to talk, and then going on to be so successful through inspiring others. My best friend Peggy and I would spend hours learning the alphabet in sign language. As an adult, I would try to get my kids to write reports and read books about Helen Keller, to no avail.
So on this Monday morning as I dread going to work I’m going to think of Helen Keller and appreciate my blessings.

They make me feel like this:

And this:
I bought these Sam Edelman Petty booties today. It was love at first sight. They make me feel like I’m 19, not 49. I’m going to wear them every day. Well not really every day, but I would if I could.  I am going to wear them tomorrow. Hopefully they will make my Monday more tolerable!
I’ll keep you posted…..
love, Paula

Learning to Blog Part II

I can’t say enough good things about the BLOG BIZ+BUZZ seminar hosted by Meg Biram of Mimi+Meg. She was so cute and knowledgeable and inspiring! Her blog is one of my favorites; well-designed and well written with an excellent eye for style.  Meg gave us lots of great information about the ins and outs of blogging and promoting your business online. I especially loved hearing her story. I thought I would be the oldest and least hip person there but I think I was okay! I had a blast and picked up some awesome swag to boot! Check out these goodies…

Thank you Meg- I had a great time!
