Let’s go Shopping :: Feeling Blue

Feeling Blue
I love navy blue these days. This Tory Burch tie-dye dress is perfect for wedding season brunches: pretty and different from the usual shift dress. Pair it with the jcrew Tartine tote for a monochromatic, put-together look. Make your digits pop with Butter London navy blue polish ! A Nanette Lepore kimono bandeau one-piece with removable strap lets you look slim at the beach and avoid those darn tan lines.
Interiors are getting a lift with navy too! Bohemian decor adds warmth when you want a more modern look but don’t like the hardness of streamlined contemporary furnishings. This Matilda sofa from Anthropologie blends well with antiques or mid-century pieces and invites you to curl up and take a little nap. Amber Lewis’ Shoppe has tons of pillows with a Boho vibe. I’ve added  “Mandy” to my personal collection.
The Serena chandelier by Stray Dog shines with true blue texture. I love how their pieces remind me of  Mexico and come in so many fun colors!
And, drumroll, please… I’m seriously coveting one of these Moroccan boucherouite rugs from Beldi!

Pretty Palette :: Miles Redd in Veranda Magazine 4.13

veranda.paletteI love the Atlanta living room that Miles Redd designed for Danielle Rollins, contributing editor for Veranda magazine. His use of color is awe-inspiring. This palette is more subtle than some of his other published interiors, but I am no less entranced.  I want to take a little cat nap on that velvet sofa nestled in the hazy blue symmetry. I am especially drawn to the abstract painting by Augustin Hurtado. It provides some edginess to balance all of the traditional “stuff.” And that antique Oushak rug… WOW!  It all works.

What do you like best about this room?
