Interior Inspiration :: How do I love thee?

Let me count the ways…

  1. Pastel Eames chairs
  2. Old wood floors
  3. Painted black mantel with simple vignette
  4. Potted flowers
  5. Capiz chandelier
  6. Wine and bread
  7.  COLLECTION OF VINTAGE OIL PAINTINGS!!!

I adore the color palette and feel of this room. I like it because it has a modern vibe yet steers clear of current trends (except maybe the “gallery wall”). I want it. In my house.

Monday Motivator :: 5 Most Beautiful Things

image by Jenni Young of Simplereminders.com

Jennifer Pastiloff, yoga teacher, poet, and writer of the blog Manifest Station,  has initiated the 5 Most Beautiful Things Challenge. She is asking that you make a list of the 5 most beautiful things in front of you right now and post it on Twitter (#The5MostBeautifulThings Project, @5MBTProject)) or facebook and spread the word! I think everyone could benefit from taking a moment to reflect on the beauty that is in our lives instead of focusing on the negative.

My list this Monday;

  1. The silence in my house when I’m the first one up.
  2. The smell of coffee brewing.
  3. The sound of fall leaves rustling in the wind.
  4. My dogs happily playing with each other.
  5. My kids sleepy faces.
Happy Monday!

Gift Guides…What?

It is only November 8th. Why are there so many gift guides around the blogosphere already? Do these people have kids? I do and there’s no way I can be that organized. I’ll be putting together a 2012 gift guide soon. Stay tuned. Here’s a gift guide for me: I’ll take one of each!
